This shot was taken one early morning at Dicky Beach, Caloundra, QLD. My first intention was to capture the wreck bathing in first light. My friends and I have been visiting this place regularly last year, trying to photograph the best sunrise. After a few trips, things became routine waking up early, ½ hour travelling, ½ hour of shooting, then return to Brisbane.

This time I wanted to break through the boredom of routine landscape, plus I started doing a "self portrait project", I imagined myself as a pioneer who survived from shipwreck, arrive on an unknown shoreline somewhere on earth. I aimed to create an environmental portrait which Is flavoured by a weird story and a strange location.
