Australian Photographer Kate O'Brien

Australian photographer Kate O’Brien’s photos are fantasy snow globes, arranged just so. Not a shiny curl out of place, not a flower askew, they’re bottled candy bliss

An avid collector, Kate finds inspiration everywhere. Online auctions, liquidators and op-shops are her hunting grounds when in search of the perfect piece to finalize her vision. Driven by a deep love of Victoriana and the macabre, Kate often spends years looking for weird and wonderful items to include in her photographs

O’Brien lives in Brisbane with her husband and her two cats. There she continues to immortalize an ever-growing assortment of muses, each image a sugar-dusted memento of an eerie world in a simpler time. Website: http://www.kateobriencreative.com/

Australian Photographer Elisabeth Harvey

Elisabeth Harvey is an Australian photographer, currently based in Brisbane. Her unique and highly conceptual approach to photography is what sets her work apart, and is evident in her fashion, advertising, editorial and documentary work.

Elisabeth commenced studies in film making in 2003, however the freedom of the photographic medium eventually led her to undertake a Bachelor of Photography at Griffith University’s Queensland College of Art, which she completed in 2006. www.elisabethharvey.com

Australian Photographer Clarissa Bones Clarissa Bones a multi-disciplinary Brisbane based Visual Artist and Photographer. Clarissa considers herself more visual artist rather than photographer and sees the camera as an extension of herself, she is an artistic voyeur, capturing and creating moments in time which are usually overlooked is something that really appeals to her; from simple portraiture to evoking imagery.  Clarissa utilises her photographs as a canvas, building from them creating conceptual vivid pieces and placing them within the context of the subconscious and surreal.

Australian Photographer Simon de Salis Simon de Salis has been having fun with cameras for 25 years. He has taken countless pictures of people and places on his travels around Australia and the world, some of which he was lucky enough to sell. As a journalist, he has accompanied many of his articles with his own photographs. He has also shot surfing, wildlife, weddings, models, bands and a variety of events, from country shows to music festivals.

At the moment he shoots professionally for the Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and the Environment in Tasmania. Most of these photos are for the department’s quarterly magazine, Tas Regions, of which he is the Editor.

For fun he takes way too many pictures of his little son Sammy. The thing he most likes about photography is the way it has made him appreciate the magical beauty of light, and given him the ability to occasionally capture that magic. Many of his favourite images can be seen at www.simondesalis.com

Australian Photographer Maythee Maythee Voranisarakul. I have been doing photography for almost 12 years. First it's my hobby and become more serious. My interest in photography was start from landscape/seascape and travel photography as I did many trips when I was in high school and Uni. Recently, I pay more attention to portraiture as I know more people and found that human expressions are so interesting and amusing.

I regularly give photography services including Portraits and Commercial, but what attracts me most is the Environmental Portrait. I love to photograph persons on location where they at most comfortable with their surrounding

I'm starting my photography business in Australia as my second job, along with my main job which I'm bound due to my residency condition. One day, if I'm freed from the tie, I will have my business strengthened and more time to pursue my passion in photography. My website is underconstruction, for any further inquiry please email me.

Australian PhotographerCasey Mayne

Casey Mayne. An impulse purchase and a short course on Digital Photography at my local arts school in 2008 started my addiction.  I had always admired the arts and photography but never dreamt I would be in a position to be creating something I could be proud of until I made the life changing decision to live off 2 minute noodles and quit full time office work for a position studying photography full time.  I have never been so broke in my life and I love every second of it! Having the facilities and encouragement to explore my creative interests continues to give me more gratification than an office job could have ever achieved.  I look forward to completing my studies in 2011 and seeing what possibilities come of this new found love.

Australian Photographer Teagan Renee Teagan Renee is a 20 year old Brisbane based Photographer / Model. I selected two of Teagan's images for the first 3 Red Stars Collection, Avast! and Surrounded! they have that something special - great styling and make-up, and the response of the models to the photographer's lens. Perhaps by working on the other side of the lens Teagan has extracted techiques which appear to flow with ease whilst working with her own subjects. I've been keeping an eye on Teagan's new work and the twists continue and the images always excite. Teagan's Body of work continues to expand and developing into her own unique style. Australian Photographer Jack Venables I am a graduate at the Queensland University of Technology, with a degree in Bachelor of Creative Industries. Within this course I majored in Music and Writing, but also delved into Photography, in which I recieved High Distinctions and graduated with Honours.
I believe portraits should  serve one of two purposes:

1) Reveal something about the character of the subject. They should reflect the soul, charisma and attiude of the subject, without forced emotions or posed situations. 2) Serve as pieces of art that can be appreciated by anyone who views them. Creative portraits put the subject into an ethereal world; a world that is limitless in context and stretches as far as the subject's or photographer's imagination. These portraits are loved by any viewer, not just relatives of the subject. Website: http://dontsaycheese.net/
